چکیده
Thermal energy storage and solar radiation management are crucial to improve the sustainability efficiency of buildings. Compared with implementation phase change materials (PCMs) in opaque components, saving potential incorporating PCMs transparent glazing windows is much less studied not well understood. Here we present a comprehensive parametric study novel PCM for building focus on optimizing quantitatively distinguishing contributions from optical thermal properties PCM, which particularly useful design solid-solid windows. We investigate reference commercial office using EnergyPlus by developing an equivalent model our window that compatible EnergyPlus’s modeling capabilities. clear-clear double-pane window, integration 3 mm optimal warm, mixed, cold climates can respectively save up 17.2%, 14.0%, 5.8% HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) system, 9.4%, 6.7%, 3.2% whole building. also demonstrate these savings most sensitive absorptance all three climates. The transition temperature varies climate related heat gain. Other issues briefly discussed, such as hysteresis, orientations, effect interior lighting. Although show performance comparable low-emissivity windows, provide unique advantage terms shifting loads benefits electrical grid.

Numerical study of heat gradient and crossing energy to around building walls containing phase change materials in Kashan temperature conditions
The application of phase change materials (PCM) in the variant parts of building because of the high capacity these materials, lead to an improvement in temperature conditions and reduction in energy consumption. Due to the high dependency of the performance of these materials to the ambient temperature fluctuations, their applications in climates with extreme temperature fluctuations has a sig...
متن کاملPressure dependent study of the solid-solid phase change in 38-atom Lennard-Jones cluster.
Phase change phenomena in clusters are often modeled by augmenting physical interaction potentials with an external constraining potential to handle evaporation processes in finite temperature simulations. These external constraining potentials exert a pressure on the cluster. The influence of this constraining pressure on phase change phenomena in 38-atom Lennard-Jones clusters is investigated...
متن کاملTranslucent Windows in X
The X Window System allows multiple windows to occupy the same coordinates on the screen. The core protocol defines which portions of each window are visible and which are occluded by overlapping windows, but the overlapping windows are always completely opaque. Various techniques can be used to simulate non-opaque windows in controlled environments. The Shape Extension can be used to make area...
